Alien Comics Products is a company that produces comics and graphic novels based on the Alien movie and television franchises. The company was founded in 2013 by former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Axel Alonso and writer/artist Jay Faerber. Alonso and Faerber had worked together on the Marvel series Ultimate Spider-Man and had discussed the possibility of creating a series based on the Alien film franchise. After announcing their plans, Alonso contacted 20th Century Fox to negotiate the rights. Alonso and Faerber hired artist Jesus Saiz to create the series’ initial cover art. The first issue, also illustrated by Saiz, was published in February 2014. The series is published by Dark Horse Comics, which will also release the first six volumes of the series. The series follows the crew of the “Prometheus” as they travel to explore the origin of the Alien species.
